A series of classes designed to guide expectant families through
pregnancy, labor, birth and the first few months of parenting.

About our program

The Childbearing Year is taught by experienced childbirth educators, who are certified through the International Childbirth Education Association.
Each class session has a variety of activities such as lecture, discussion, demonstrations, buzz groups, learning games and audiovisual aides.
A class syllabus is included with the course.
The curriculum does not focus on any particular childbirth "method" but draws from the best of several childbirth preparation techniques.
The role and hands-on techniques for the support person(s) is a significant part of the class curriculum.
Knowledge and skills gained have application and use beyond the childbearing years.
We recommend that you register for the classes by the following dates:

Breastfeeding: Anytime during pregnancy.

Childbirth Preparation: Begin by 28-30 weeks.

Childbirth Tutorial: Begin by 28-30 weeks.

Refresher Childbirth: Begin by 30 weeks.
